I’m drawn to telling stories…

At school they said ‘nice girls’ don’t do photography, so I studied speech therapy, enjoyed human dissection and sociolinguistics and headed off to a tiny office at an NHS clinic.

Little makes me more miserable and utterly content than the process of making a photograph. I’m visually drawn to broken ugly things and trees—I’ve tried to let go of the tree thing but it won’t let go of me. The work I most like to make isn’t very commercial and I produce personal projects at my own pace. I’ll probably still be emerging at the time most people retire.
